Error message indicates platform version needs upgrade to use new connector version
Question
Hi everyone. I’m desesperate it’s been weeks i’m stuck on this problem and anywhere on internet, support I can find a solution. Here is the message error after I updated connector source : Failure in destination: You must upgrade your platform version to use this connector version. Either downgrade your connector or upgrade platform to 0.63.7. Weeks and nothing I tried worked. Does anyone have any clue please ? I’m using airbyte on cloud with digital ocean.

Do you use this droplet with a very old Airbyte version https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/airbyte or how did you deploy your Airbyte?
Yes, this is the version, and it’s not that old.
There is a mismatch between version of connectors and version of Airbyte.
I think the easiest option is to go to Settings, then Sources and Destinations and trying to “Change to” versions of connections that are compatible
How do I know which version ?

You haven’t even mentioned what connectors do you use.
Assuming that v0.59.1 was released May 10, 2024 https://github.com/airbytehq/airbyte/releases/tag/v0.59.1
I would check versions of connectors that were released around that date. Then you can check a bit newer until you find the last compatible version.
Every connector should have a changelog with dates at the bottom. Here’s an example https://docs.airbyte.com/integrations/destinations/s3#changelog

it is crazy how it is not smooth and easy to use
Airbyte is in heavy development phase, still not version 1.x.x. By using open source version you need to be prepared for different issues.
With my colleague, we spent quite some time, but it was worth it.
When you solve something, you can always contribute to community, so others will have less issues with setup.
I don"t understand why it was working and suddenly not anymore
You may have to adjust both the source and the destination versions.
I personally haven’t run into many breaking changes with destinations when it comes to older versions, but we’re mostly using BigQuery for our connections.
