- Is this your first time deploying Airbyte?: No
- OS Version / Instance: MacOS
- Memory / Disk: you can use something like 16Gb / 1 Tb
- Deployment: Are you using Docker deployment?
- Airbyte Version: What version are you using now? 0.35.55-alpha
- Source name/version: Snowflake
- Destination name/version: N/A
- Step: The issue is happening during creating a new source?
When attempting to connect a Snowflake reader role to Airbyte running locally on my MacBook Pro, I get the following error :
Could not connect with provided configuration. Error: Cannot create JDBC driver of class 'net.snowflake.client.jdbc.SnowflakeDriver' for connect URL 'jdbc:snowflake:
I have removed the URL for account privacy, following the jdbc:snowflake
. I have verified the database, schema, and warehouse are all create.
Has anyone seen this error before? How did you fix it? What was the root cause?
Many thanks for the help.
Cheers,
Jason
Are you running in a Mac M1 chip?
Hey Marcos,
No, i7 Intell Mac.
I think the issue was more about the source (Snowflake) and less about AIrbyte. I am also working with the Snowflake folks and I think I have it working. It is running now.
Cheers,
Jason
Nice to hear that, if possible share here what what the problem/solution
Hey Marcos,
The issue was with Snowflake data sharing and how my client configured authentication. When we followed the script in the docs (to create an Airbyte user) Snowflake was saying no user exists in Auth0. The workaround was to grant an existing user, say SYSADMIN all the rights need for Airbyte, then provide my user account access to use the SYSADMIN account. This solved the issue, and we are now pulling data without issue.
Thank you again for all the help.
Cheers,
Jason
