Forcing Airbyte update or specifying version

Summary

User wants to know how to force an update or specify a version for Airbyte instance deployed via Plural.

Question

just deployed a fresh instance of airbyte via plural … sick. only thing that makes me a little sad is that its like a year out of date (v50.33). spent a little bit poking around but didnt find anything … is there a way to force an update or specify a version somewhere?

At the risk of being an idiot, wtf is plural?

Yeah, 0.50.33 is not fun, we just shipped 1.0. You’ll get a few surprises in a release > 1 year old.

yeah i know, was using 1.0 on a local dev install. which is why i was so surprised.

Yeah, the Plural version is just painfully out of date, and has been for a long time.

Unless someone has a way to get them to bump it to current (which would be great for people to discover it from there), I wonder if that Deploying on Plural page should be redirected (or at least a warning be added). I run into issues people are having around here pretty regularly that turn out to them being on that ancient version because they found that page somehow (or found Airbyte through the Plural apps directory).

Oh my Lordy on a pogo stick I haven’t heard about it in my 10 months here.

welp, looks like its somewhat straightforward to push an update to their repo. helm / k8s is outside my domain of expertise though (which is why the plural install was so nice).

ive x-posted in their discord, but doesnt look like they spend much energy keeping any of their packages up to date. most haven’t been touched in over a year.
