Support for Full Replication in Airbyte

Summary

Inquiring about Airbyte’s support for full replication between heterogeneous DBMS

Question

Hello. I am just starting to explore Airbyte now.
Does Airbyte only support replication through stream logs( for CDC) ? I am looking to perform full replication between various heterogeneous DBMS, such as MySQL or Oracle, on a scheduled basis or to carry out one-time data transfers on demand. Would Airbyte be an appropriate solution for this use case, or is it not suitable?

Airbyte can work in both CDC and non-CDC modes for database sources that support that option.

It will definitely work for that scenario, although depending on the size of data it may not be the fastest solution for one-time-only transfers (as it’s really built for ongoing synchronization). But it’ll definitely work, and if your data isn’t huge or raw speed isn’t a primary requirement, it’ll handle those one-off cases just fine—just set the schedule to Manual when creating the connection over the UI or API.
